SUNY Downstate Medical Center Boiler Plant
Brooklyn, New York
An urgently needed heating plant for the 13-acre critical care, educational and research campus was completed earlier than scheduled and within budget. Construction entailed installation of a temporary boiler building just as robust as a permanent installation. This required maintaining the failing auxiliary equipment in the existing plant in-service. Dynamic US Inc., in collaboration with clients, design consultants and subcontractors redesigned and built the project under difficult time constraints with little to no impact to the SUNY Campus or to the local community. The SUNY Heating plant project succeeded by incorporating the principles of partnering to keep the project on track until its successful completion. This project was recognized with the 2020 AGC Excellence Partnering Award for Informal Partnering.
